It draws its support from ethnically distinct Kabyle people. It is one of the richest and most successful clubs in Africa and a source of great pride for the Kabyle people, a distinct group of the Berbers.   Kabylie is a mountainous area east of Algiers.   Son and musician of the legendary poet and singer Lounis Ait Menguellet, Djaffar Ait Menguellet released the album Ann Argu in 2000.
