Theatre Arts
The theatre arts program at Priory has both curricular and extracurricular opportunities. Students study theatre from Form A to Form II, then once in high school, they can choose to continue their theatre studies as a fine art.
Students learn concepts such as theatre history, basic technical theatre, and acting for stage. Extracurricular theatre opportunities include the fall play, winter musical, and spring junior school play. These productions invite female students from other schools to work alongside Priory cast and crew.
There are countless ways to get involved: auditioning for a role, serving on a crew, or joining the theatre intensive program that allows for in-depth training with our professional design team.
Kevin Kline Theatre
Priory’s musicals and plays are performed in the school’s Kevin Kline Theatre, which is named after actor and St. Louis native Kevin Kline. The star of more than 60 feature films including A Fish Called Wanda, Cry Freedom, Wild Wild West and The Big Chill was active in Priory’s theatre program when he was a student. Kevin Kline graduated from Priory in 1965.
