Visual and Performing Arts

Visual and Performing Arts combine academics with creative engagement. The goal of Visual and Performing Arts at Priory is to provide a wide breadth of offerings in Studio Art, Theatre and Communication Arts, Vocal Music, and Medieval Arts.

In Grade 7, students take one term each of Studio Art, Theatre and Communication Arts, and Vocal Music. By offering Junior School students this opportunity, Priory facilitates our students being able to recognize their particular gifts and explore new arts that they may never have known before, thereby fostering their full creative potential. Beginning in Grade 8, the Visual and Performing Arts curriculum also includes a unique Medieval Arts program that features study in calligraphy, stained glass, mosaics and heraldry. Outside of the Medieval Arts classes, High School students may participate in a Medieval Arts extracurricular program known as “the Guild.”
