Endowment Giving

Saint Louis Abbey and Saint Louis Priory School have established a number of endowments that provide long-term financial support. These endowments have been for the various needs of the school and Monastery and generate annual income for the Abbey and Saint Louis Priory School. These funds are invested to ensure the needs of the school and Monastery are met in perpetuity.

The following endowments are in place to support ongoing important needs:

Creating A Legacy

Contributing to our endowment funds, you are supporting the needs of the Abbey and school into the future. Endowments are the most reliable assets available to an institution; no other form of giving addresses long-term needs as effectively.

The Abbey Society

The Abbey society recognizes all those who have included the Abbey or the school in their estate plans or through other kinds of giving arrangements. Such as trusts, insurance gifts, annuities, and bequests.

Abbot Luke Rigby, Father Columba Cary-Elwes, and Father Timothy Horner were dedicated to building a college preparatory school of the highest excellence as well as a Benedictine community that would provide spiritual guidance for St. Louis families. The Abbey they established and built has had a profound impact on the lives of everyone in the Abbey family. Because of the lasting commitment and impact of these donors, it seems fitting to name this group, The Abbey Society.

You can join the Abbey Society in many ways:

  • Make a single gift of $25,000 or more to the Priory Fund
  • Make cumulative gifts of $25,000 or more over your lifetime to the Priory Fund
  • Make a contribution of $10,000 or more to an Endowment Fund

Inform the Advancement office that you have named The Abbey of Saint Mary and Saint Louis or Saint Louis Priory School as a beneficiary in your financial or estate plans and complete a brief form describing your gift..

For more information on how you can join the Abbey Society, please contact Natalie Covey in the Advancement Office at 314.434.3690 ext. 325 or ncovey@priory.org.
