Call for Participants: Youth in Government
Priory will be participating in Missouri Youth in Government (YIG) for the second year. YIG is a student-driven simulation of state government, which involves 1,000 Missouri youth in grades 8-12. At the YIG State Convention, students create their version of state government under the guidelines of the Missouri Constitution. All YIG participants in Missouri come together for this three-day event at the State Capitol. Legislators meet in committees and in the House and Senate chambers to debate legislation. Priory will attend the Lewis State Convention. They will depart school after final exams on Thursday, Nov. 10, and will return on Nov. 12. The cost of the entire program, including programming, overnight accommodations and some meals is $230. Please contact junior Joseph Mathis (email@example.com) if you are interested in participating. The deadline to register is Sept. 18.
