Congratulations to our TEAM+S students
The TEAM+S program is an annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) competition challenging students to work collaboratively and apply their math and science knowledge in practical, creative ways to solve real everyday engineering challenges. Focused on a different theme each year, original academic and innovative concepts are developed for the competition based on the National Academy of Engineering’s Grand Challenges. Tackling these challenges requires critical job-readiness skills such as collaboration, analytical thinking, and multidimensional problem solving. Working in a written competition format, groups of four to eight students at either the 9/10 or 11/12 grade level compete during two 90-minute parts: Part 1 is 80 multiple choice problems and Part 2 consists of short essays based on Part 1 topics and answers. Part 1 and 2 scores are combined to generate the Overall State Rankings.
This year, Priory’s Varsity Senior team was 2nd overall in state. Priory’s Junior Varsity Sophomore team placed 4th overall in state; and our Varsity Junior team was 8th overall in state. These rankings represent our teams in relation to the rest of the state, regardless of division (divisions are based on school size).
Congratulations to all the students who helped make TEAM+S such a success this year!
