This Saturday we will be competing in the Gateway Robotics Challenge (GRC) at Hazelwood Central High School from 7:30 to 5:30. We would greatly appreciate support from the team if you are available. We will not be providing a carpool, so you'll need to find your own ride.
We will be having our first all team meeting for students and parents this Sunday at the Priory Junior School from 1 - 2 p.m. We will be discussing how the upcoming training sessions and season will proceed; we will be having two brief meetings where you will be able to hear about the various divisions (Mechanical, Controls, Business, PR/Fundraising) and Disciplines; and then sign up for work sessions. Please, remember our work sessions, starting in early January, will be held on the following days:
Monday: 5 - 7 p.m.
Wednesday: 5 - 7 p.m.
Friday: 5 - 7 p.m.
Saturday: 10 - 12 p.m., 12 - 2 p.m., 2 - 4 p.m.
Sunday: 12 - 2 p.m., 2 - 4 p.m.
Junior school students are recommended to choose at least one work session per week. We recommend everyone else to choose at least 2 sessions per week.
Also, we are looking for mentors and volunteers to help out our team. Regarding mentoring, we are looking for parents who can help mentor with the following skills: machine shop (or general tool use), electrical circuits, programming (we program in Java), CAD (we use SolidWorks), business and finance, fundraising, graphics design, web development and general leadership building.
As for volunteers, we need parents who are willing to help out organizing various team events like the kickoff event (coming up in early January), organizing food for competition day, making sure the snack bin is full and organizing our end-of-season party.
If you are willing to help out with either of these, please, attend our team meeting and sign up!
