Junior School Clothing Drive
Mrs. Hartnett writes...
In many ways, the recent spate of cold weather has proved providential, because I am certain that while you were all spending your afternoons and evenings indoors, you passed the time by …. cleaning out your closets!! Please do know, dear Junior School families, that we are having a clothing drive here and that your help is once again needed. Gently used clothes of any size, newborns through adults XXL, will be gratefully accepted. Shoes, boots, and bedding (sheets, blankets, towels, etc) of all types are also needed. Underwear, if donated, needs to be new and in the original packaging.
The drive will begin on Monday, December 1, and will last until noon on Friday, December 19, and I assure you that what you donate will help to warm the hearts and bodies of the very neediest of all. Catholic Charities Community Services Southside is our recipient. This fine organization works with immigrant and refugee communities here in St. Louis, and their ministry is extremely important and far-reaching. Currently, in some cases, CCCSS is assisting second and third generation immigrant and refugee families from Bosnia, Nepal, Viet Nam, Mexico, Colombia, and several of the sub-Saharan African nations. And so, we need your help. Please send anything, anything at all.
As an addendum to the clothing drive, may I add that the Junior School lost and found collection is reaching critical mass with clothing items. Please be aware that any clothing items (other than items that say Priory on them) not claimed by the morning of December 19 will be added to the clothing drive collection. I urge all Junior School boys to reclaim their lost items. Daring and courageous parents are also invited to sort through the collection….just make certain that you have had your tetanus shots!!
