Junior School Rec Night 2015 Recap
The Fathers' Club writes...
A BIG turnout of 77 Junior School fathers and sons gathered in the Priory Gym on Friday, Nov. 20 for a time-honored tradition of throwing of dodge balls at each other.
Special thanks to Jody O'Sullivan, Phil Callahan, Jim Fox, Matt Wagner, Frank Van Bree, and Jack Eisenbeis for leading this fun Fathers' Club event and to Athletic Director Tom Fiala, Mary Rhodes and Dzevada Grbic of Priory's Development team, and Larry of Priory's facilities team for their good work and good cheer on behalf of our fathers and sons.
Here is Mr. O'Sullivan's report on his 15th Priory Junior School Rec Night...
The newly renovated gym excelled in its role last night. We had a big PIG tournament. The upper half of the bracket was dominated by the Kemnas. The lower half had a lot of close games, with the Van Bree father-son duo emerging as the victors. It was an all Form I final. The Kemnas were too much, making three tough shots in a row. The Van Brees had a couple of shots rattle in and out, but bowed out gracefully and rapidly to the champion Kemnas.
Dodge ball was a take-no-prisoners affair. The fathers played the sons in several games, with the fathers winning 3-1. We then split it up by Forms. Form II fathers and sons came out strong winning the first game. Form I, building on their successes in PIG, came back to win the next two. In the final game of the night, Form II redeemed themselves. So each Form had two victories.
A good time was had by all. Only a couple of 'head shots' in dodge ball, no injuries.
Thank you to all who helped make this night possible, from fearless leader of the fathers Doug Drysdale to the Alumni and Development staff who provided the much appreciated refreshments."
