Message from the Assistant Headmaster, 3/10/17
This week’s issue of Rebel News is a wonderful testament to the amazing work our students undertake every year! From service opportunities that aim to raise awareness and support ongoing efforts in our regional and global community to intensive dedication to the practice of one of the fine or performing arts, Priory students continue to go above and beyond by actively pursuing experiences that build upon elements of our own program of study. I am always excited to learn of the progress being made by our largest on-campus student activity, Robotics, and was happy to hear about the success of our newly-formed Coding Club this past month. Interest in these particular programs reminds us of the importance of evaluating and further developing our curricular offerings in Computer Science, an example of which includes the addition of our Web Applications Development course in Form IV and our Computer-Assisted Research elective in Form V. Similarly, Computer Science teacher Mr. Andrew Erker ’11 continues to develop our inaugural alumni-speaker series which seeks to introduce current students to the exciting work that some of our former students are currently involved in pertaining to business, entrepreneurship, innovation and design. And, of course, we continue to wish our regional champion Mock Trial team great success as they prepare for the state tournament in two weeks!
I wish everyone a safe, restful and productive Spring Break. As Father Augustine encouraged our community at today’s school Mass, I hope that each of us can commit ourselves during this Lenten season to some time of prayer and reflection as a way of giving back to Him who gave us His very life.
Dr. Jared M. Rashford
