Mock Trial Update
Father Cuthbert writes:
The boys continue to impress: the Red Team defeated MICDS and the Green Team beat Francis Howell North by winning all three possible ballots at their trials tonight (Thursday, Feb. 9).
Special mention goes to Noah Mollett, who subbed for Carl Azrak at the last minute and was given a perfect score by both of his jurors (even though he only had 24 hours to learn the part); Collin Limp for his excellent opening statement ("the prosecution’s case is like a puzzle, but there are pieces missing, and pieces that don’t fit"); Joey Mathis for adapting his great closing statement during the trial to highlight his opponent’s omissions; JP Spellmeyer for skillful impeachment during cross examination; Thomas de Wolff for his competent and confident direct examination; and Andrew Johnson for his winning portrayal of a southern homeless man.
These are just a few of the highlights, and all of the boys had great moments when they shined and brought the best out of each other. Please congratulate them on their dedication and teamwork these past 3.5 months!
Green Team Round II: Collin Limp, Tony Kraus, Joey Matthis, JP Spellmeyer; Michael Morgenthaler, Matthew Fonseca, Noah Mollett (Timer: Thomas Fonseca)

Our Blue Team will be competing next Tuesday, and we should hear whether we have placed for Regionals by the end of next week.
