Speech Team Update
On Sunday, January 25th, the Priory Speech Team competed with 10 other area high schools in the third regular season Christian Interscholastic Speech League (CISL) meet hosted by Cor Jesu Academy. Red ribbon honors for excellence were earned by Sophomore Nick Boveri (Original Oratory) and Junior Cartan Sumner (Extemporaneous), bringing the Priory Speech Team’s season total of blue and red ribbon honors to nine. In addition, Cartan Sumner finished the season among the top three competitors in the Extemporaneous Speaking category, qualifying for the CISL Finals. He becomes the second Priory student to earn a spot in the league finals, following Noah Van Bree (Radio Broadcasting) who qualified last year. Cartan will be representing Priory at the finals meet at St. Louis University High School on Sunday, February 8th. Thanks to faculty moderator Mrs. Ann Schaefer and assistant moderator Brother Joseph for supporting the speech team this year and serving as judges at each competition.
