Winter Bible Study for Parents
Winter Bible Study
"The Bible & The Sacraments"
Thursday mornings, Jan. 8-Feb. 19 (no meeting on Feb. 5)
Switzer House living room
This Bible study will not only examine the basic definition and teachings of the Catholic Church concerning each of the Sacraments, but through this study we will investigate the deeper mysteries contained in the Sacraments as illuminated by the Scriptures. We will learn how through these sacred oaths God binds himself to us making us part of his family and partakers in his divine nature. It is through the Sacraments that God nurtures us with his grace so that we may mature as his sons and daughters in preparation to live for all eternity in his Kingdom. We will look at each Sacrament individually, seeking to understand where they come from, what they mean, and why they are so important and foundational to our faith. Finding their institution in Christ and their origin in salvation history, they are truly God’s gift of life to His children.
Each of the six sessions will last approximately an hour. There is no cost for the study. All you need to bring is a Bible - all other materials for the study will be provided. If you have any questions or wish to attend please contact Polly Capps via firstname.lastname@example.org.
